Cook sausage breaking up with a spoon to crumble. Remove sausage with slotted spoon from pot and set aside. Discard all but a tablespoon of the oil in pot.
Add onions and garlic and cook then deglaze pot with white wine scraping up any bits. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil. Add potatoes and cook for 20 minutes or until fork tender.
