Ingredients

Chicken

  • 6 whole chicken wings
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

Garlic Parm Sauce

  • 1 1/2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 1/2 butter
  • 1 tsp garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp parmesan cheese grated
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/8 tsp smoked paprika

Garnish

  • 1 tsp parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tsp parsley finely chopped

Instructions

  • Start by breaking down the chicken wing by cutting in between the joints to separate the drumette, wingette (flat), and tip. Discard or save the tips for homemade stock.
  • In a large bowl, add the the chicken wings, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, salt, black pepper, onion, garlic powder, and baking powder. Mix together so the chicken is evenly coated.
  • Preheat air fryer to 400°. Spray air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray. Line seasoned wings in the basket in a single layer. Depending on the size of your air fryer you may need to cook in batches. Cook for 13 minutes then flip the wings over and cook for another 13 minutes.
  • 5 minutes before the chicken is set to come out start your sauce. Put 1 1/2 tbsp of butter and 1 1/2 tbsp of olive oil in a sauce pan and heat until butter is melted. Add in minced garlic, smoked paprika, and red pepper flakes and cook for 30 seconds. Stir in 1 tbsp of parmesan cheese you have your sauce.
  • Put the cooked wings into a large mixing bowl and pour the sauce over the chicken. Add fresh parsley and toss the chicken to coat.
  • Garnish with more salty parmesan cheese! Serve alone or with your favorite dipping sauce and celery sticks.

Notes

No air fryer, no problem! There is just a little extra cooking time. Preheat oven to 425°. Line a large baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top. Spray with nonstick cooking spray. If you don't have a rack thats perfectly fine. Line the chicken on the rack or the baking sheet. Place the chicken on top rack and bake for 45 minutes. Proceed with the saucing instructions.
