    Blueberry Lemon Drop Martini

My first favorite cocktail when I turned 21 was a classic lemon drop martini. It made me feel grown up because I was drinking a "martini". Of course I needed something because a martini was a bit too much for me. I'm also trying to be a fan of olives but I'm not quite there yet. The lemon twist is the perfect amount of tart but the simple syrup and the sugar rim cuts through the vodka in the drink. It's a great spring cocktail but also great in the summer heat. There are different variations for the lemon drop cocktail but this blueberry lemon martini has got to be the best. The blueberry twist is the perfect combination of sweet and tart in a drink. The first time I had this drink was at Fleming's Steakhouse which is one of my favorite restaurants. It was such a good cocktail that I went home and made my own. It's as easy cocktail made with simple ingredients that will impress at a dinner party or any gathering of family and friends.

    Blueberry Lemon Drop Ingredients

Lemon- This is the main ingredients of this cocktail. Fresh lemon juice is always best.

Blueberries- This would be the star ingredients for the twist on the classic cocktail. Again fresh blueberry is always best.

Triple Sec- Cointreau can be used as well in place of this ingredient.

Vodka- Use your favorite for this recipe.

Simple Syrup- This gives a hint of sweetness to the cocktail.

Sugar- This is used for the rim edge of martini glass.

Let's Make This Blueberry Lemon Drop Martini Recipe!

In a cocktail shaker add fresh blueberries and using a muddler, muddle blueberries.

Add to the cocktail shaker triple sec, vodka, lemon juice, and simple syrup and ice cubes. Shake until shaker gets cold and frosted.

Add sugar to a small plate. Rub the rim of martini glasses with lemon wedge. Run the rim of a chilled martini glass through the sugar to created the sugar rim.

Strain mix into glasses and garnish with a few blueberries. Enjoy!

This recipe was really good. I did use 1 oz of lemon juice instead of the 1 1/2 oz.
      But over all excellent.
