    Jalapeno Margarita Ingredients

Fresh Lime Juice- This is the main ingredient that gives the classic margarita taste. You could also add some fresh orange juice if you wanted more of a sweet and citrus flavor.

Triple Sec- This is an orange liqueur used to make margaritas and other popular cocktails. Grand Marnier and Cointreau can be used as well.

Jalapeno Simple Syrup- This brings sweetness and flavor to the margarita. In this case, a jalapeno simple syrup is used and the star of the show. Agave syrup is another example of a sweetener for drinks. This can be made and used the next day.

Tequila- You can't have a margarita without tequila. I like a blanco tequila which is silver tequila. Its all on personal preference because there are different types of tequila, use your favorite good quality tequila.

Tajin- This is used to rim the drink glass and add a little heat. A mix of flaky kosher salt and chili powder can be used as well.

    Let's Make A Spicy Margarita!

Add all the liquid ingredients to a cocktail shaker with some ice cubes. Shake vigorously to combine all the ingredients.

Next rub the rim of the glass with a lime wedge. Pour some tajin on a plate and twist the rim of your glass through it to coat.

Fill glass with ice and add a couple slices of fresh jalapenos. Pour margarita into glass.

What do you serve with spicy margaritas?

Tortilla chips with salsa and guacamole is a good snack. You can never go wrong with tacos or fajitas.

    Can infused tequila be used?

Absolutely! It will further enhance the spicy flavor. Add jalapeño pepper to tequila in a jar at room temperature in a cabinet for at least a day and up to 3 days. Strain jalapenos and use your new jalapeño tequila.
